WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Play Ball: Greenville’s first-ever trip to Werner Park in Omaha will bring some unique challenges, with a narrow field laid on top of a baseball diamond. An already-strong Omaha squad is even more lethal on their home turf, losing only two matches to-date during their time in League One. Greenville does come in with fond memories of their last match on an active baseball field, a 1-0 playoff semifinal victory at the Lansing Ignite in 2019.
Defensive urgency: Omaha enters Saturday on fire, with eight goals scored in their two last matches, including four from Evan Conway. On a narrow field, there will be a lot of pressure on Greenville’s center backs. Fortunately for GTSC, the duo of Evan Lee and Brandon Fricke brings both height and experience to combat Omaha’s attack. Fricke’s 2019 season in Lansing should have him ready for Werner Park’s narrow field, and goalkeeper Paul Christensen’s strong service will come in handy to relieve pressure on the defense during the match.
