The Greenville Triumph have announced plans to participate in the inaugural United Soccer League Academy Cup, which will take place in Tampa, Florida next May. Youth teams from across the country will compete under the banners of USL clubs. Greenville plans to field a team to compete in the U-13 Boys’ tournament comprised of players from across the Upstate.
“This tournament offers our club a great opportunity to collaborate with youth clubs in the area and gives players from these clubs a platform to represent our Upstate community as one on a national stage,” said Triumph President Chris Lewis. “We look forward to continuing to work on this initiative with the league and the many youth clubs and organizations across the region.”
Additional details, including tryouts, coaching applications and travel information will be released at a later date.
